Senior Process Engineer in Somerset, KY
We are in search of a Senior Process Engineer to join a well-established manufacturer of engineered equipment in Somerset, KY. This role provides the opportunity to collaborate closely with the current Director of Engineering, gain in-depth knowledge of the company's technology and applications, and gradually take on broader technical and engineering leadership responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in chemical or process engineering, along with hands-on experience in designing and supporting industrial equipment involving pressure, temperature, steam, gases, process liquids, heat transfer, process controls, instrumentation, and pressure vessels.
This position involves direct customer interaction, process development, collaboration across functions, equipment troubleshooting, and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Director of Engineering to develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's products, technologies, and customer applications.
- Consult with customers to grasp their manufacturing processes, technical requirements, and production challenges.
- Translate customer and process requirements into safe and reliable equipment solutions.
- Develop process concepts, technical specifications, and system-design criteria for custom-engineered equipment.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers throughout the equipment-design process.
- Provide technical support to customers, manufacturing teams, and internal project teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Senior-level experience in process engineering or a related technical role.
- Hands-on experience with industrial equipment involving pressure, temperature, and process conditions.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid flow, heat transfer, and process controls.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing.
- Experience with composite materials, heat treatment, or chemical processing.
- Previous experience managing engineering projects or technical teams.
