Director of Nursing (DON)

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Direct Hire | On-Site

A leading nonprofit skilled nursing facility in Connecticut is looking for a Director of Nursing (DON) to provide clinical leadership and oversee operational activities for the Nursing Services Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and direct day-to-day nursing operations
• Provide leadership to nursing staff and maintain quality care standards
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations
• Manage nursing staffing needs, schedules, and recruitment
• Conduct regular clinical rounds to monitor care practices
• Collaborate with medical professionals and interdisciplinary teams
• Lead participation in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program
• Oversee regulatory surveys and ensure corrective actions are taken
• Manage nursing services budget and allocate resources effectively

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred
• Licensure & Certification: Current RN license in CT; active CPR certification
• Leadership Experience: Supervisory experience in healthcare setting
• Regulatory Expertise: Knowledge of long-term care regulations
• Clinical & Administrative Skills: Strong judgment, organizational abilities
• Communication & Team Building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
