A leading nonprofit skilled nursing facility in Connecticut is looking for a Director of Nursing (DON) to provide clinical leadership and oversee operational activities for the Nursing Services Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and direct day-to-day nursing operations
- Provide leadership to nursing staff and maintain quality care standards
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations
- Manage nursing staffing needs, schedules, and recruitment
- Conduct regular clinical rounds to monitor care practices
- Collaborate with medical professionals and interdisciplinary teams
- Lead participation in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program
- Oversee regulatory surveys and ensure corrective actions are taken
- Manage nursing services budget and allocate resources effectively
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred
- Licensure & Certification: Current RN license in CT; active CPR certification
- Leadership Experience: Supervisory experience in healthcare setting
- Regulatory Expertise: Knowledge of long-term care regulations
- Clinical & Administrative Skills: Strong judgment, organizational abilities
- Communication & Team Building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
