Electrical Engineer
We are in search of an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the technical aspects of industrial electrical, automation, and process-control systems in a manufacturing setting. This role involves designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing plant electrical and control systems such as PLC, DCS, SCADA, instrumentation, and high- and medium-voltage power distribution.
The Electrical Engineer will oversee capital projects from inception to completion, offer technical support to Operations and Maintenance, conduct root-cause failure analysis, and ensure compliance with relevant NEC and NFPA standards.
Responsibilities
- Designing, programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, Siemens SIMATIC S7/TIA Portal, and Mitsubishi PLC systems
- Configuring, integrating, and maintaining Yokogawa Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Maintaining SCADA interfaces, HMI screens, and process-data collection systems, including Aspen Data Historian
- Conducting loop checks, calibration oversight, and logic tuning for industrial process controls, instrumentation, and control valves
- Coordinating automation software/hardware upgrades and industrial network communications
- Overseeing electrical power-distribution systems, substations, and infrastructure, primarily 5kV
- Performing arc-flash hazard analysis, short-circuit/fault-current studies, and protective-relaying assessments
- Managing MCCs, VFDs, transformers, and switchgear
- Ensuring electrical design and installations comply with NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, and industrial grounding/bonding standards
- Leading capital engineering projects from feasibility to startup
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5–10+ years of industrial electrical power, controls, or automation experience
- In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical system design
- Strong PLC, automation, instrumentation, and industrial power-distribution knowledge
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with production, maintenance, engineering, and outside contractors
- Strong organizational and project-management skills
