Foundry Manufacturing Engineer Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

An established company in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team at a plant site in the southwest area of the Atlanta metropolitan area. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and involves planning and designing manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency and achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.

The company offers major benefits, bonus potential, and a 401k with 100% match to 5%. The typical working hours are 8-5, with the possibility of up to 45-50 hours per week.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design production tooling using 2D & 3D software such as SolidWorks
  • Implement productivity improvements on current production lines
  • Perform root cause analysis of failures and recommend changes
  • Design and implement production processes for new and existing products
  • Review product designs for manufacturability
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure optimal productivity methods
  • Conduct design of experiments, lean manufacturing, and other exercises
  • Create work instructions, spare parts inventories, and more
  • Implement automation, robotic systems, controls integration, and more

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Experience in 3D modeling software and Microsoft Office
  • Project management and automation experience required
  • Manufacturing engineer experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Experience in zinc or high-pressure aluminum die casting, stamping, or similar
  • Foundry experience desired
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
