New Hanover Regional Medical Center is a leader treating patients with complex epilepsy.  We are accredited through the National Association for Epilepsy Centers as a Level 2 center.  We are searching for an excellent Neurodiagnostics Technologist who will primarily focus on the Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.  However, this position does perform diagnostic and investigative END studies in the lab, on all ages of patients served by the department.

This position:

  • Performs complex and routine long-term video EEG monitoring.  Follows procedural protocols for testing in each specialty named.
  • Performs testing under the guidelines established by The American Society for Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists.
  • Able to perform duties independent of supervision but, is under general supervision of the laboratory supervisor rather than under direct supervision.
  • Assists in the instruction of junior staff members.
  • Takes call as scheduled by the supervising technologist.
  • Provides instruction to patients and family members concerning procedures and post-procedure topics when needed.

This position requires a High school diploma or equivalent. An associates degree or higher is preferred.

Completion of an END program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs is preferred.

National professional credentials (R-EEG) in a least one modality are preferred.

Licensure / Certifications: BCLS (CPR) certification required.

Experience: Enrolled in or graduated from an END program OR at least two years of experience in the field of END. Familiarity with computers required.
